Woman killed, three hurt in road accident
Yadadri-Bhongir: A woman died on the spot while three others suffered injuries when the car they were travelling in overturned when the driver of the car tried to stop knocking down a dog.
The incident took place on Hyderabad-Warangal Highway on the outskirts of Vangapally village of Yadagirigutta mandal in the district on Sunday.
According to sources, a married couple, Ashok and Sirisha, of Moulali of Hyderabad along with their son Anuk and kin Jahnavi, Karthik and Hani were heading towards Shyampet of Karimnagar district from Hyderabad in their car to attend the 10th day ceremony of Ashok's grandfather.
When the car reached Vangapally outskirts, Jahnavi who was driving the car applied sudden brakes to stop hitting a dog that was crossing the road.
However, this led to overturning of the car. In the incident, Sirisha who sat in the back suffered serious head injuries and died on the spot, whereas Karthik, Jahnavi and Ashok suffered severe injuries and were shifted to government area hospital for treatment.
Local SI Ramesh rushed to the spot and shifted dead body to Bhongir government area hospital for post-mortem.
It came to be known that at the time of the accident, the car was at the speed of 130 kmph. Based on the complaint of Karthik, Yadagirigutta CI Narsimha Rao filed a case and took up the investigation.
