Women voters hold sway in 7 LS segments
Hyderabad: Women voters will decide the fate of all parties in as many as seven Lok Sabha segments where women voters are high in numbers. According to data released by the Election Commission, the number of female voters is more in about nine constituencies, but their numbers are sizeable in seven constituencies where the difference is in thousands.
The parties would have to appease the women folks with their promises to get votes. Generally political parties offer freebees to women voters during the election time by gifting sarees and other items. However, according to political analysts these constituencies would help the ruling TRS with their tailor-made schemes like Kalyana Lakshmi, KCR Kit, Bathukamma saris, pensions to widows and others.
Though State-wide the male voters are more compared to female voters, the difference between both the genders in nine constituencies is 1,45,718 and this is a sizeable number.The Khammam Lok Sabha segment is the one which has a greater number of female voters compared to the male voters. There are 32,404 more women voters compared to male. While the male voters constitute 7,36,222, the female voters are 7,68,626.
Similarly, the Adilabad Lok Sabha segment also has sizeable female voters. There are 26,688 more female voters compared to male voters.While the male voters constitute 7,25,961, the female voters are 7,52,2649. The Zaheerabad Lok Sabha segment has sizeable number of women voters. There are 22,361 more female voters compared to the male voters. While the male voters are 7,36,528, the females are 7,58,889 voters.
The Mahabubabad and Nalgonda segments have 17,523 and 16,233 more women voters respectively compared to their male counterparts. The constituencies of Medak, Mahbubnagar and Warangal have more women voters, but the number is less than 10,000 votes. The three constituencies including Medak LS constituency has 4,737 more female, Mahbubnagar has 1,297 more female voters and Warangal has 6,143 more voters.
