Women warriors on spraying spree in fight against corona in Hyderabad
Hyderabad: Women sanitation workers and leaders participated in disinfectant spraying for the first time in Hyderabad at Borabanda. Around 25 women workers, leaders and women from Borabanda voluntarily held a special drive of disinfectant spraying exclusively for women to empower the power in women. Deputy Mayor Baba Fasiuddin and actress Alekya supported the women by participating in spraying sodium hydrochloride disinfectant spray.
"Women are being empowered in all the sectors and a woman can do anything is what we believe. The objective of this special drive is to encourage women workers in the municipality sector and without them, there will be no hygiene and pleasant surroundings for us. Moreover, women workers are strong enough to battle corona not only with brooms but also with disinfectant machines," said Baba Fasiuddin, Deputy Mayor, GHMC.
Around 15 manual disinfectant machines were bought by Baba Fasiuddin to spray across Borabanda. Around 25 women warriors has sprayed disinfectant chemical from Borabanda bus stop to corner point Borabanda.
Speaking about the women power at the event, wife of Deputy Mayor Habib Sulthana said women are always in the frontlines of battle in every untoward situation and we wish women power spread across the globe and she urges citizens to maintain physical distancing along with proper hygiene.
"We are happy to participate in this special drive, it makes us feel we are equal to men and resting the same power as men does. It's a great initiative to support women to grow further. Moreover, it made us think and believe that, women are not just confined to broom but can grow further if she wants to with a proper ambition," said M Sujatha, women sanitation worker, Borabanda.
