Women's role key in 30-day action plan: Warangal Urban District Collector Prashanth Jeevan Patil

Warangal: Mulkanoor, which is a replica of cooperative movement's success, needs to lead in the 30-day special action plan, aimed at the all-round development of rural areas, as well, Warangal Urban District Collector Prashanth Jeevan Patil said. Speaking at a meeting as part of the 30-day action plan at Mulkanoor under Bheemadevarapally mandal on Tuesday, he said that women, who have been playing pivotal role in the success of cooperative movement, need to focus on 30-day special action plan.

Patil urged the locals to make the 30-day action plan as part and parcel of their lives so that rural areas would achieve a sustainable development. "Feel it as a social responsibility and keep your surroundings clean like your houses," the Collector said. Patil inspected the primary health centre and said that a proposal would be sent to the government for its upgradation.

Speaking on the occasion, Warangal Urban Zilla Parishad Chairperson M Sudheer Kumar said that creation of smaller districts made administration reach out the people frequently. "Earlier, a Collector used to visit a village once in two or three years, but since the reorganisation of districts the situation changed," he said. Instead of wasting time by watching TV serials and chitchatting, it's time for the people to think about their village development, he added.

In a related development, District Collector Prashanth Jeevan Patil and ZP Chairperson M Sudheer Kumar also participated in a meeting on the implementation of 30-day action plan at Kothulanaduma village under Elkathurthy mandal. The duo emphasised the need for effective implementation of the action plan, which was aimed at the growth of rural areas. They appealed to people to cooperate with the government, which is striving hard to develop all villages emulating Gangadevipally, a model village in Warangal Rural District. Warangal Urban has earned nationwide recognition after it became open defecation free district, the Collector said. Sarpanch Rajitha Devender Rao and MPP Mekala Swapna were among others present.
