Work for rural development

Nirmal: District Collector M Prashanthi instructed the newly-appointed panchayat secretaries to work har for the rural development, at a meeting with district rural development officials at the Collectorate conference hall in Nirmal on Wednesday.

The Collector said the employees should work for the development of National Rural Employees Guarantee Schemes (NREGS), Haritha Haram, Swachh Bharath etc.

Panchayat Secretary role is very crucial in village development and everyone should work with efficiently to develop villages. They were told to follow up sanitation works regularly and setup green zones and nurseries in villages.

On 5th of every month, drainage should be cleaned. They were also told to create awareness among the rural people about the need for personal toilets and to setup dumping yards by the end of July.

The officials should take care that people will not dump garbage on the roads. The Collector also instructed the officials to arrange tri-cycle s to collect garbage in their respected gram panchayats.

Horticulture officer Sharath Babu, Kasani Jagadishwar, MPDO Mohan, Mallesham, Ramesh, panchayat secretaries and others attended the meeting.
