Yadadri Bhongir: Officials told to address reduction in milk supply to dairy societies

Yadadri-Bhongir: Dairy farmers in the district must extend their cooperation to co-operative dairy societies by selling milk to them, said Collector Anita Ramachandran.

On Tuesday, she held a meeting with Animal Husbandry officials and officials of Mother Dairy and Vijaya Dairy at the office of Animal Husbandry in Bhongir and reviewed the status of production of milk in the district.

"There must be an amicable policy to sell milk to cooperative dairies by farmers as the milk production in the district is higher in the State with the record production of 6.70 lakh liters per day," she said.

She directed the officials concerned to find the reasons for reduction in supply of milk to cooperative dairy societies and encourage the farmers towards these societies by creating awareness among them on subsides being provided by the government.

she also reviewed the status of vaccination of cattle against foot and mouth disease and advised them to protect the cattle by taking all precautionary measures. In this meeting, Mother Dairy managing director Ramesh, Vijaya Dairy special officer Satyanarayana, officials Ramesh, Illaiah, Krishna, Motilal, veterinary surgeons, officials of cooperative dairy societies took part.
