Yelgoi girl summits Khardung La Pass
Jharasangam: Talasri Srilatha, a student from Yelgoi village in the mandal, has successfully completed training in mountaineering. She is studying Intermediate first year BiPC at Telangana Social Welfare Residential Junior College at Kolcharam in Medak district.
Her parents Narsimhulu, and Tukamma said she always showed interest in extracurricular activities apart from being a topper in studies. Her passion was recognised by the officials and she was selected for the training in mountaineering. She was also part of 16 members team selected for trekking Khardung La pass in Ladakh.
Speaking to The Hans India, Srilatha said she was thrilled to scale the mountain pass situated at an altitude of 18,379 ft. from the sea level. Villagers are praising her because she was the fist one from the village to achieve this feat.
