Young hands give leg up to water conservation drive in Khammam

Khammam: The District Rural Development Agency (DRDA) department conducted an awareness programme under Jalasakthi Abhiyan in mandals of Raghunadhapalem, Khammam Rural, Kusumanchi, Tirumulayapalem on Monday.

Youth of the various organisations passionately participated in the programme. They planted saplings and constructed the soak pits in the villages.

The Forest department also got involved and conducted the planting drive in the villages as part of the programme.

Speaking at the programme, District Rural Development Agency Project Director Indhumathi explained the uses of the soak pits on the houses' premises and asked people to save water.

Assistant Collector, Hanumnathu Kodimbha, officers D Anand Rao and Anasurya, Assistant Project Development officer Ashok, VenkatRamana, and public representatives attended the programme.
