Youth held for threatening, blackmailing girl in Warangal
Warangal: The Cybercrime Police on Wednesday arrested a youth for allegedly threatening and blackmailing a girl by morphing her pictures from social networking sites. The youth was identified as an engineering student who belongs to Dharmaram village in Warangal Rural district.
According to a complaint lodged by the parents of the girl, the accused picked up photos of the girl from her Instagram account and morphed them with pornographic content. Using fake accounts, the youth threatened the girl by posting her morphed photos. He threatened that he would share her morphed photos with her relatives and friends if she fails to chat with him. Recently, the accused posted the girl's morphed photos in her college group. Following which, her parents lodged a complaint with the Mattewada Police.
Later, Commissioner of Police V Ravinder assigned the case to Cybercrime wing. The Cybercrime police who investigated the case apprehended the accused and seized his mobile phone which was used for morphing.
The Commissioner commended the Cybercrime inspector Janardhan Reddy, Matwada Inspector Ganesh and others involved in the investigation for arresting the accused within a short period.
