ZP Standing Committee elections today in Nizamabad
Nizamabad: Zilla Parishad Standing Committee elections will be held on Thursday. The role of the Standing Committees is the most important one in Zilla Parishad Governing Council. According to the constitutional amendments 73 and 74, any key decision has to be taken before the Standing Committee and it has to be approved in the General Body.
The ZP consists of seven standing committees. Members of Nizamabad ZP the Standing Committee are entitled to vote. There are 27 ZPTCs, two co-op members, two Lok Sabha members, one Rajya Sabha member, five MLAs, 4MLCs and 41 members. They are appointed as members of the Standing Committee.
ZP Chairman Dadannagari Vital Rao serves as the chairman of the four standing committees. They are called the First Standing Committee and the Finance and Planning Committee. The Rural Development Standing Committee is known as the Second Standing Committee. Education Health Standing Committee is the Fourth Standing Committee.
ZP vice-chairman M Rajitha is the chairman of Agriculture Standing Committee. The Agriculture Standing Committee is called the Third Standing Committee. The 5th and 6th Standing Committees will be elected by the chairman.
Prior to that, the 41 members will be divided into seven standing committees. Elections will be held for the chairmen of fifth and sixth standing committees. A woman ZPTC will be elected as the chairperson of fifth Standing Committee and sixth Standing Committee.
There are 23 ZPTCs from TRS, two from BJP, two from Congress in Nizamabad Zilla Parishad.
