At last, we get to the whole center point of the series. Who should be faulted for such crisis? Craig Mazin tries to undercurrent a small message that the lies that we tell from infancy to growing up to accommodate our narratives are the main reason behind the carefully constructed structures failing at such catastrophic heights.

If USSR Government could see the problem that hiding truths can cause, few people looking for promotions won't push an under qualified team of professionals to do a job that they have to learn by the book. We also see, how they had at every turn opportunity to shut down the entire thing and look away.

But the structure that Bureaucracy is that it tries to be more rewarding to Yes-Men than the people who can see problems. Intellectuals or people with common sense seem bigger hurdles for power hungry system heads and they try to find ways to "improve" system for their convenience than really appreciating the efforts to keep people informed and ready.

At times, hiding truth for few kinds of people looks right but the problem is that the transparency can really help lessen the panic too. Secrecy can cause more panic than transparency. On the other hand, transparency can result in people who are hard core criminals and who lack values can take over the useful information and threaten the stability that any system at the end of the day, promises to deliver.

So, a balance is required like how with red and blue tiles Legasov explains the difference between well-informed equilibrium and over dependence on the system to take care of everything. We might need that balance to see things as they are than how past affected us and future can be built on the shackles of it.

Craig Mazin and director, Johan Renck gave a herculean task of making a disaster based movie a purpose than just people having fun with everything going to shambles and one hero emerging from them. In real life, heroes live too long to see themselves as villains and Legasov is a best example of how a flawed system can push a person to commit highest possible crime, suicide to bring out truth. A must watch for every one!
