25 fresh Covid-19 cases registered in East Godavari
The district has registered 25 corona positive cases in rural areas on Thursday. Two cases were registered in Kakinada Urban, one in Samalkot, one in Ramachandrapuram, 2 in Rajamahendravaram, 1 in Peddapuram, 1 in Pedapudi and 17 in Chelluru village in Rayavaram mandal in East Godavari district
Kakinada: The district has registered 25 corona positive cases in rural areas on Thursday. Two cases were registered in Kakinada Urban, one in Samalkot, one in Ramachandrapuram, 2 in Rajamahendravaram, 1 in Peddapuram, 1 in Pedapudi and 17 in Chelluru village in Rayavaram mandal in East Godavari district.
On Thursday, 5 patients were sent to home isolation, with this the total number of isolated people reached 90 in the district. With declaration of 5 containment zones, the total tally touched to 125. 2,268 samples were collected in the district and 1,390 tests conducted.
Meanwhile the Central prison in Rajamahendravaram on Thursday reported a first corona positive case creating panic among jail inmates. Jail Superintendent S Rajarao said that a remand prisoner, who was affected with corona positive was sent to quarantine. He said the remand prisoner was shifted to Central prison from Vijayawada on June 16 in connection with a rape case. He is working as a software engineer in Mumbai.
He said that for better treatment, the medical officials shifted him to GSL hospital, Rajamahendravaram. Meanwhile the Covid tests conducted on 20 jail staff members, will come on Friday.
The district authorities urged the people to observe social distancing strictly to prevent Covid-19 spread.
