The AP government said that a helpline number has been set up at AP Bhavan in Delhi for pilgrims and their families and senior officials have been sent to Srinagar.

Meanwhile, 16 people were death in the flash flood near Amarnath and more than 100 people were injured and they are being treated in different areas. The army, central forces and the police have carried out desperate rescue operations for another 40 people. On the other hand, many people belonging to Andhra Pradesh were not found

With this, the AP government has announced that AP Bhavan Additional Resident Commissioner Himanshu Kausika has been sent to Srinagar to coordinate with the Jammu authorities. Helpline number 1902 has been set up to provide assistance to Amarnath pilgrims from the state, it said.

A DRF, Army, CRPF and ITBP forces, which have carried out extensive searches, are continuing the rescue operation along with the local police. As of Saturday, 16 bodies have been recovered. In the background of adverse conditions, the officials who stopped the yatra on Sunday also stopped the convoys coming from Pahalgam and Ballal routes. Thousands of pilgrims are waiting for the revival of Amarnath Yatra.
