Holy scriptures being carried out in a procession before the launch of book exhibition in Tirupati on Saturday

Tirupati: The 14th Tirupati Book Festival has begun in a festive atmosphere on Saturday evening. The annual event was being organised by Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan (BVB), Tirupati Kendra since 2006. Every year it was being organised for nine days at SV High School grounds in the city . . Today's festival was also held with a formal procession of holy scriptures from Mahati Auditorium to the venue.

Former Chief Election Commissioner and present Chancellor of Rashtriya Sanskrit Vidyapeetha N Gopala Swamy has participated as chief guest in the inaugural function who said that to know the rich history and culture of the country one should read Bhavan's books. BVB founder president N Ramanuja has said that Bhavan's books are the reflection of the country's culture and said that he has digitised the books during the last 60 years.

Dr Alladi Mohan of SVIMS, BVB Secretary Sudhakar Reddy and others took part in the programme.
