Amaravati: Prof D Narayana Rao Pro-vice-chancellor of SRM University AP, addressing a webinar with eminent personalities to discuss the 'Post-Covid 19: Resurgence of Indian Industries and R&D' organised by SRM-AP, said, "COVID-19 which has disrupted the world is also giving an opportunity in building new India, which would emerge as an alternative source to countries like the US, Japan, Singapore and Taiwan. India needs to utilise this opportunity by building taskforce, infrastructure, and dedicated industrial fast track clearances. India should develop future workforce for the World."

Dr V K Saraswat, member of NITI AAYOG, presided over the webinar, while Prof D Narayana Rao, Pro V-C of SRM-AP as moderator, Dr G Satheesh Reddy, chairman of DRDO, Prof Ashok Jhunjhunwalaa of IIT-M, Dr K Varaprasad Reddy of Shanta Biotech, Prof Prasant Mohapatra from the USA, Prof Damodar Acharya, ex-director, IIT Kharagpur, Prof V S Rao of NIIT University, Prof B S Murty, Director of IIT Hyderabad, Dr Akhilesh Gupta of DST, Prof Rakesh K Khandal of India Glycols participated.

Dr V K Saraswat talked about the capability of our scientific community in mitigating epidemiological studies and stimulation through gene concepts. He also said, "India should be competitive in terms of quality, quantity, and cost effective by standardising the products and settling for larger value addition."

Dr G Satheesh Reddy said, "PPEs, masks, and ventilator production has increased exponentially. The onus is to produce 60,000 ventilators in the coming days." Dr K Varaprasad Reddy believes that MNCs should be compelled to share the research knowledge inferred in our land.
