Amaravati: TDP smells rat in MoU with 'tainted' Allana Group
- Party spokesperson Pattabhi alleges Rs 500 cr commission is involved in Rs 4,500 cr worth goats
- Says Jagananna Jeevana Kranti is another quid pro quo scheme by the YSRCP regime
Amaravati: TDP national spokesman Kommareddy Pattabhiram on Thursday accused the YSRCP government of committing yet another massive fraud by unilaterally giving away total rights on Rs 4,500 crore worth goats to a 'tainted company' like the Allana Group.
Pattabhi demanded the government to immediately cancel the MoU with the Allana Group as cases were filed against it for evasion of Rs 2,000 crore income tax. Just like birds of a feather, the Jagan regime had now entered into a tie-up with the Allana group, he said.
Addressing a press conference at party state office in Mangalagiri, the TDP leader asserted that Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy had no rights to give away total control to one single company on the 38 lakh goats whose total worth comes to around Rs 4,500 crore. Moreover, all these goats were being distributed under the latest 'Jagananna Jeevana Kranti' by spending Rs 1,869 crore. So, public money was being spent and then the benefits were being given to a private company for the sake of commissions.
Pattabhi said that the 'Jeevana Kranti' and the Allana MoU were just part of another quid pro quo of the Jagan regime. The YSRCP would get a commission of Rs 500 crore in the whole scheme. As such, the goat rearers would have no say in the sale of the goat they rear eventually. The government had no right to do this and the goat rearers should be allowed as before to sell their livestock at the prevailing rates in the open market to whichever company or agent they would like.
The TDP leader further expressed concern that the government promised to develop meat processing units in East Godavari and Kurnool with public money. These units were another scheme to benefit the Allana Group for the sake of commissions. In the Amul project also, the government was developing Rs 3,000 crore worth public resources. Eventually, these resources were proposed to be handed over to the Amul group for overall milk procurement in the state, he alleged.
Pattabhi deplored that the YSRCP regime was unabashedly indulging in irregularities like selecting Allana without a tender. The TDP would not allow this and it would expose the multiple scams being committed by the Jagan Reddy government, he said.
