Anantapur: Sathya Sai Central Trust and Sathya Sai Seva Organisations have together decided to offer Anna prasadam to 199 villages spread over 17 mandals in Anantapur district to serve over 1,00,000 meals on the occasion of Swami's 95th jayanti celebrations on November 23.

This initiative is being taken up by Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust along with Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisations of Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh to prevent mass gathering in one place in the context of Covid safety precautions.

Managing trustee R J Ratnakar has flagged off Anna Pradadam to all the selected 199 villages. The trucks are carrying loads of groceries consisting of rice, dal, all types of masalas including leaf plates. 'Anna Prasadam' (lunch) will be prepared in their respective villages by the Anantapur district Sevadal of Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisation, Andhra Pradesh and will be distributed to devotees/public.

On Monday in all the selected villages of Anantapur district, the 95th jayanti of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba Varu will be celebrated by the devotees.

The vegetables will be sourced locally from the farmers of the village. The unique offering will reach 199 villages, covering a radius of 90 kms in 17 revenue villages of Anantapur district.

S Koteswara Rao, National Seva (service wing) coordinator, Sri Sathya Sai Organisations S G Chalam, state president, Andhra Pradesh Sri Sathya Sai Organisations, Sundar Swaminathan, Director, Sri Sathya Sai Media Centre, Vinod, Karnataka State, Prof Ramanjappa, district president, Anantapur, Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisation and other senior office bearers were present on the occasion.
