Anantapur: With the restrictions on movement of people lifted, it is business as usual for the people of the district. For nearly two months people were confined to their homes and roads wore a deserted look and every day people were told through a local bulletin on the seriousness and status of Covid 19. But since the past fortnight, restrictions were eased gradually and people started coming outside and now except from 9 pm to 5 am, people are free to roam on the streets and to shop freely as most of business establishments have been opened.

From June 8, religious worship centres and hotels will be thrown opened to public. Hotels and restaurants are one places where people gather in large numbers on a daily basis. Only movie theatres are one places which are not permitted to open.

There are absolutely no restrictions on movement of people and the pitiable part is no one knows who is carrying the virus. Presently majority of people are wearing face masks but since majority of corona cases are asymptomatic, corona carriers can be anywhere and everywhere and doctors say that wearing masks does not protect one from catching the virus if one is sitting beside a patient without symptoms. Now at the outset it looks as we have either conquered the demon of covid 19 or we are vulnerable for another wave of covid pandemic which may strike in July or August.
