Anantapur: Superintendent of Police B Sathya Yesu Babu warns of stern action against smugglers

Anantapur: Superintendent of Police B Sathya Yesu Babu has in a statement warned stern action against those smuggling sand illegally to places outside the district. He also warned of severe action against those people smuggling liquor or arrack from the neighbouring Karnataka state.

He said vigil has been stepped up at the check posts bordering Karnataka including Galimaremma check post, Ballari road, Patha Adigili, Obulapuram and Bommanahal check post. He also asked the check post personnel to prevent entering of migrants from the neighbouring state.

He said that policemen, who crossed 55 years of age, should be exempted from check post duties. He briefed on the need to strictly enforce the lockdown regulations to prevent the spread of coronavirus. Kalyandurg DSP Venkataramana and CIs Tulasiram and Raju accompanied the SP.
