COVID -19 State Coordinator Krishna Babu said that a circular had been issued on behalf of the government regarding migrant workers during the lockdown. It is aware that amid lockdown in the state, the migrant labourers have to walk thousands of kilometres to reach their states. The decision to repatriate them on humanitarian grounds, the state has decided to shift them through Trains and buses set up in the state. "The circular has also been issued with the directions of CM YS Jagan. As many as 4661 persons have been sent to the relief centres for the past three days.," Krishna Babu said.

"We have arranged an RTC bus at each check post, and people from Odisha are travelling to Ganjam by bus," he said. The three bogies are allotted to the migrant workers on each train. Talking to Tamil Nadu DG, the number of people who walk from there has been greatly reduced. "Another thousand people from Odisha are said to be moving to their hometowns today; five Shramik trains from various parts of the state will leave the state on Sunday," Krishna Babu asserted. Krishna Babu has said that the CM has instructed the officials not to resort to violence and lathi charge.
