The government of Andhra Pradesh has give yet another shock to private educational institutions in the state The School Education Regulatory Commission has recommended to the state government that some crucial steps be taken to curb the private schools manipulations. If these recommendations are so implemented by the government then it seems certain that private educational institutions will had to face difficulties. The Education Commission has made these recommendations to the government despite the fact that it has already issued several warnings against private schools to no avail.
At Corona times, almost all private educational institutions did not pay salaries to teachers. However, the PDF MLCs have asked the Education Commission to stop them. It has also issued warnings that it will revoke the recognition of educational institutions that are already committing violations such as sending teachers to student homes for admissions. However, these are being ignored by private schools. The Education Commission took it seriously about this. Justice Kanta Rao chairman of the commission, said it was illegal to dismiss teachers officially.
He said that under the 1982 Education Act, employers do not have the power to dismiss teachers without conducting an inquiry into the discipline. He said that it had come to their notice to dismiss teachers without paying salaries and without written orders and if the teachers had to be sacked, it would have to take the permission of the superiors. He also said that they would have to pay compensation as per the law if the situation was such that they had to be removed and asserted that private educational institutions should pay salaries to their staff every month. He explained that the law also says that private owners who violate it should be severely punished. Rao also recommended to the government that all RJDs and DEOs in the state should identify the educational institutions within their jurisdiction and submit a comprehensive report and take legal action.
