The Andhra Pradesh government headed by chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is taking steps to stand up for small, medium farmers. The government will credit about Rs. 642 crore to farmers under zero interest and investment subsidy schemes. Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy will release the funds today by pressing the button at Tadepalli. In Kharif 2019, 14.58 lakh farmers took crop loans where all of them will get Rs 510.32 crore under the zero interest scheme and another Rs 132 crore as investment subsidy for the loss of agricultural and horticultural crops last month.

CM Jagan Mohan Reddy has decided to provide investment subsidy during the crop loss season itself and the government has prepared estimates of crop losses in October and pays the investment subsidy. Steps have been taken to provide zero interest subsidy to every eligible farmers. The government has said it will display a list of beneficiaries at Rythu Bharosa Kendras. The government said in a statement that it was also depositing the interest subsidy dues in the farmers' accounts.

Under zero interest Rs. 510 crores are being paid for Rs. 2019 and 109 crore for input subsidy for crop damage due to torrential rains in October. Also Rs. 23.46 crores of input subsidy for paddy, cotton, maize, groundnut and millet crops will be paid to farmers.
