The government of Andhra Pradesh headed by chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has given a good news for the poor in Andhra Pradesh.
The government of Andhra Pradesh headed by chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has given good news for the poor in Andhra Pradesh. It is noted that there is no need to stand in queue lines in ration shops anymore. The government has prepared the plan to distribute quality rice to households from January 1. With the revolutionary changes in the public distribution system, the Civil Supplies department has also completed the tender process for the purchase of 9,260 mobile vehicles (mini trucks) for the distribution of quality rice to households. The vehicles will be ready by the end of this month.
YS Jagan assured before the election that quality rice would be delivered to the poor. For transparency in the public distribution system, quality rice will be distributed to the beneficiaries at the door steps. It is learnt that the government has selected Srikakulam district under a pilot project to distribute quality rice to every household. Beneficiaries are picking up at their homes without having to go to the ration shops for the ration. Those who live in tribal areas and hills will be benefited. Beneficiaries are now excited about the distribution of rice from door to door.
Officials said the government was buying 9,260 mobile vehicles for door-to-door delivery of quality rice to the poor. From January 1, the goods will be delivered to every rice cardholder at home. It is estimated that 2.50 lakh metric tonnes of quality rice will be required every month.
