Andhra Pradesh: Mediclaim policy for advocates launched
The Special Committee constituted under the Government Grant, headed by advocate-general S Sriram, AP Bar Council chairman Ghanta Rama Rao, Y Nagi Reddy, P Raviguvera and G Vasudeva Rao, all members of the Bar Council, finalised the proposal for issuance of the Group Mediclaim and personal accident policy to the advocates on the rolls of the Bar Council of AP and entered into a memorandum of understanding with United India Insurance Company on Wednesday
Vijayawada: The Special Committee constituted under the Government Grant, headed by advocate-general S Sriram, AP Bar Council chairman Ghanta Rama Rao, Y Nagi Reddy, P Raviguvera and G Vasudeva Rao, all members of the Bar Council, finalised the proposal for issuance of the Group Mediclaim and personal accident policy to the advocates on the rolls of the Bar Council of AP and entered into a memorandum of understanding with United India Insurance Company on Wednesday.
Chief regional manager of United India Insurance Vijay Kumar handed over the policy to the advocate-general in the presence of members of the special committee, representatives of Pragmatic Insurance Broking Services and Raksha Health Insurance. The policy will come into force with immediate effect.
An amount of Rs 4,348 is contributed from the government fund sanctioned to Bar Council of AP and nominal amount of Rs 1,000 was collected from each advocate towards part premium.
It was a floater policy with the sum insured for Rs 2 lakh to the advocates and their dependents and personal accident policy to the advocates alone, for a sum insured of Rs 10 lakh and valid for a period of one year. The policy provides cashless services in network hospitals and covers various ailments, including pre-existing diseases, except those specifically excluded. There are about 15,552 advocates, who came forward to avail the benefit and all those advocates are covered from the date of issuance of the policy.
