Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy inquired about the Eluru incident over the phone. Deputy CM, Health Minister Alla Nani briefed CM Jagan on the current situation and details of the victims. CM YS Jagan especially lauded Minister Nani for responding in a timely manner and taking precautionary measures to provide better treatment to the victims. CM Jagan lauded the performance of the medical team, district administration and officers at Eluru Government Hospital. Minister Alla Nani, who stayed up all night and took special care of the victims at the Government Hospital, expressed satisfaction over the performance.

YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and minister Alla Nani extended condolences to the victims who were admitted to the government hospital due to various symptoms. "We are sending medical teams from Vijayawada especially to Eluru to know the complete symptoms of the disease and people should not panic; let's do expert medical tests to prevent similar situations in the future. We will do our best to provide better medical care if needed," Jagan said. The minister said that the special medical teams would come to Eluru this morning and would examine the conditions thoroughly. YS Jagan asserted that government would support in all possible ways.

The city of Eluru was shaken by a strange disease on Saturday with residents of South Street, West Street, Gunbazar, Kottapeta, Ashok Nagar and Shanivarapupeta areas of OneTown area were affected by the outbreak. The family rushed them to the hospital after several people fell with foam along their mouths. Doctors did not understand what the disease was as it was a new type of disease like never before. Those who have fallen ill return to normal after 10 to 20 minutes. From Saturday morning to noon, tens of people were suffered. By nightfall, the number had risen to 95. People with this elusive disease are deeply concerned and are afraid of a sudden fall without killing anyone.

On the instructions of Deputy Chief Minister Alla Nani, District Medical Officer Dr Sunanda conducted a door-to-door survey of doctors and staff on South Street in Eluru South Street with information that people were falling ill. Immediately a medical camp was set up for the evening. Steps were taken to provide immediate medical services if anyone fell ill. Ten 108 vehicles were made available. Deputy CM Nani directed the doctors to stay in the hospital regularly.
