Amaravati: The Assembly Budget Session to commence on June 16, amidst the many changes in regular procedures. The arrangements are made to maintain social distancing in the Assembly premises.

The members were requested not bring their staff, visitors even other objects and material. The Assembly Speaker barred bringing banners, placards and other material things too.

On the other hand, the Governor will address the Joint Session through video conference from Raj Bhavan in Vijayawada, whereas the members will participate in it from Assembly Hall.

The government has been planning a short duration Session in view of the Coronavirus threat. It was informed that this Session will be completed in three working days, apart from MLAs participation in the Rajya Sabha elections on June 19.

No other person will be permitted in the vehicles of the ministers and members while entering the Legislature complex. The entry of strangers into the Assembly premises will be strictly prohibited.

Vehicles without valid pass will not be permitted in the parking area. Even in the lobbies also, Speaker imposed restrictions. Entry to the Speaker's, Chief Minister's corridor strictly prohibited.

The Assembly authorities made it clear that visitors are not allowed in the Visitors Gallery and also precincts of the Council and Assembly for the entire Session.

The Staff of the Government Departments will not be permitted to move except to the Visitors Gallery and Ministers Chambers through the specified entry point. They have to use stair case only.

Members asked to deposit their weapons of any kind at the Bell of Arms at Room No 121 on the ground floor, before entering into the House. It was made clear that no weapon will be allowed inside the House.

Carrying of fire arms, banners, lathis, spears, swords, sticks, brick bats, placards and others strictly prohibited, explained P Balakrishnamacharyulu, Secretary, Legislature.

He also informed that the media point has been closed for this Session to prevent the COVID19 and urged both members and media to cooperate.

At the same time, the Legislature issued guidelines to all the members to maintain social distance. The Speaker suggested the members not to bring any visitors into the premises of the Legislature.

The MLAs and MLCs are requested not to bring even their Personal Security Officers, Personal Assistants or Personal Secretaries and other personal staff into the premises of the Legislature. Irrespective of members' political affiliation, these guidelines are applicable to everyone.
