AP cabinet approves to set up three new districts in the state!

For the past few days, there has been a campaign on the formation of new districts in Andhra Pradesh. The government is in a proposal to set up 25 districts in the state. However, the cabinet on Monday reportedly approved for setting up of three new districts in the first phase. It is reported that the Jagan government has decided to set up Machilipatnam, Gurajala and Araku as new districts.

The state government recently sanctioned medical colleges in Machilipatnam, Araku and Gurajala. The estimated cost for setting up a medical college in the districts is quoted at Rs 600 crore. It is noted that the Medical Council of India (MCI) is likely to fund up to 60% of the cost if the government proposes to set up new medical colleges where there are no medical colleges are lacking with medical facilities in the districts.

To utilise this facility, the government has proposed three districts Machilipatnam, Araku and Gurjala. In addition to the formation of these three districts, the remaining new districts are said to be formed in the next phase.
