The government of Andhra Pradesh decided to cancel the farmer loan waiver scheme and stalled the release of 4th and 5th instalments arrears of Rs 7959 crore. The government has terminated the GO 38 issued by the TDP government to pay the pending amount along with 10 per cent interest.

Andhra Pradesh government released a new GO 99 terminating GO 38. The decision came in the wake of the YSR Farmer Assurance Scheme. The chief minister's Agriculture department secretariate Poonam Malakondayya issued the GO.

The latest development has come after Andhra Pradesh CM Jagan Mohan Reddy held a meeting with state-level bankers on the implementation of Raithu Bharaosa scheme. As per the minutes of the meeting, the RAithu Bharaosa scheme will be implemented from October 14 in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Other pending issues related to the welfare schemes also discussed in the meeting.
