Andhra Pradesh government has announced a lockdown in the state till March 31 to curtail the pandemic coronavirus. However, the people are violating rules. In this backdrop, government has taken a crucial decision and warned that stringent action be taken if anyone violates the lockdown rules. It is reported, those who violated the lockdown provisions would be sent to jail for six months under Section 188. It has made it clear that everything except the services that are exempt from the lockdown should be stopped.

As per lockdown rules, the public transport system, including interstate transportation, has been stopped. All those who have returned from abroad are required to remain home quarantined for 14 days. The government has vested the powers over District Collectors, Joint Collectors, Police Commissioners, SPs, DM & HOs, Sub-Collectors, RDOs, Tahasildars, Municipal Commissioners and MPDOs to implement the lockdown.

Police, Medical, Health, Urban Local Authorities, Firefighters, Electricity, Drinking, Municipal Services, Banks, ATM, Print and Electronic Media, Social Media, Food, Commodities, Milk, Bread, Fruits, Vegetables, Meat, Fish Transport, Warehousing , Hospitals, pharmacies, eyeglasses, pharmaceuticals, related transportation, telecom, internet services, IT workers, essentials Manufacturing units, and their supply routes, private companies engaged in the control of Corona, petrol pumps, LPG, oil, transport agencies, warehouses, food units, drugs, medical are said to be relaxed from lockdown rules.
