I this backdrop, another step is being taken in the implementation of the assurance given by CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy to the Agri Gold victims. It is known that those who have deposited less than Rs 10,000 in cash have paid the amount as promised by the Chief Minister.
It is knew that within days of Jagan taking over as Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Rs 1,150 crore was earmarked for Agri Gold victims. In the first phase, Rs 263.99 crore was released and payments were made to depositors in October last year. The state government has asked for permission to disburse the cash even to those who have deposited less than Rs 20,000.
The Telangana High Court gave the green signal on the 9th of last month. The state government has asked the AP CID to take steps to collect details of depositors through ward secretariats. CID chief Sunil Kumar said the details of those who had deposited less than Rs 20,000 would be collected and reported to the government by March 2021.
