AP High Court puts brakes on govt's plan to shift the offices to Kurnool

The High Court on Tuesday had a hearing on the petition filed against the shifting of the Vigilance office to Kurnool. The courts have questioned the government as to how they could shift the offices when there is stay order. However, the Advocate General has said the court that the government would file a counter in three days while the court has issued a stay order in this regard till February 26.
On the other hand, the farmers' petition against the GO No. 13 for shifting of the government offices from Amaravati will be heard on Wednesday. Advocate Karmandi Indranil Babu filed an appeal on behalf of the farmers and included the State Government, the Chairman of the CRDA as the respondents.
The government of Andhra Pradesh earlier has given directions to the officials to look for the building to shift the officers from Amaravati to Kurnool. AP Finance Minister Buggana Rajendranath Reddy has also clarified that there is nothing wrong in moving government offices to Kurnool as the government is planning to make Kurnool as the Judicial capital.
The YSRCP government headed by Chief minister Jagan Mohan Reddy has taken another decision on Visakhapatnam. The city, which is announced as the administrative capital is allocated with funds of Rs 19.73 crore for the construction of the Millennium Towers. It is reported that the government is considering Visakha Millennium Tower B to hold secretariat operations.
