Apartment caved in Kakinada Residents panicked and ran for cover

Kakinada: Residents in an apartment in Kakinada ran for cover after its pillars were caved in on Thursday. The incident took place at the Baskara estates which have 40 flats. The residents noticed that the building was shaken and partially caved.

The residents immediately alerted the police and municipal officials, who rushed to the spot and been assessing the situation. Some pillars were badly damaged and iron rods were exposed and concrete pieces are being fallen to the ground.

The apartment pillars were seen very dangerous and it may indicate that the apartment could collapse at any time. The residents said it was built about 14 years ago.
