Vijayawada: MLC K S Lakshmana Rao and the DYFI leaders submitted a representation to the Secretary of the Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) PSR Anjaneyulu on Wednesday requesting the latter to increase the age limit for attending the examinations conducted by APPSC to get the jobs.

The MLC said only two times the APPSC released notifications for recruitment in the last six years and very less number of posts were filled in six years.

The MLC has urged the APPSC to issue notifications every year and increase the age limit to 46 for attending the examination as a large number of unemployed youth and aspirants have crossed the age limit of 42 years. He said it was the failure of the APPSC not releasing notifications.

He said the State government after coming into power announced that 1.83 lakh posts were lying vacant in the state and asked the government to release notifications to fill the posts as assured in the Assembly.

Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) state president and the secretary G Ramanna and M Surya Rao, vice-president Y Ramu and committee members were present on the occasion. Lakshmana Rao said the secretary of the APPSC has responded positively to the request made by the MLC and the DYFI.
