Kurnool: The Minister for Water Resources, Anil Kumar Yadav said athletes should exhibit their maximum skills while playing games. He said the players should work hard to represent the state, national and international levels. He participated as a chief guest on the inaugural function of CM Cup state level Sepak Thakraw games organised at the outdoor stadium here on Saturday. Minister for labour department, Gummanur Jayaram, Kurnool MLA, MA Hafeez Khan and District Collector G Veera Pandiyan were present.

Later addressing the athletes, Anil Kumar said it is happy to see the athletes from 13 districts participate at the State level sports. Playing Sepak Thakraw game is difficult one, but the athletes have chosen it. He urged the people to play sports to keep them physically fit. Youths should prefer outdoor sports rather than preferring indoor sports. Besides pursuing education playing sports is must, said Anil Kumar Yadav.

Kurnool MLA, MA Hafeez Khan said it is very happy to host state level CM Cup Sepak Thakraw in city. He said the Chief Minister, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is giving big boost to sports.

District collector, G Veera Pandiyan said around 130 athletes from 13 districts have participated at the state level Sepak Thakraw championship trophy.

Minister for Labour department, Gummanur Jayram, MLA, Katasani Rambhupal Reddy, Joint Collector, Patanshetty Ravi Subash, Syed Khaza Mohiuddin, Managing Director of Sports Authority, Bhaskar and other district level officials participated on the occasion. The cultural performances and the march past by the athletes of 13 districts was an eye catching event on the inaugural day.
