Vijayawada: MP Y Sujana Chowdary said that the BJP would play an important role in the development of Andhra Pradesh.

Speaking to the media persons here on Sunday, he said the BJP flag would be hoisted in all the States in the country.

The country's rebuilding would be possible with the BJP only and it would also develop Andhra Pradesh too, he said. Replying to a question, he said that he could not say whether the TDP would work with BJP or not in the future.

The Centre would not give special status but the State should utilise the special package, he said.

He said that it is not correct to criticise the State government as the YSR Congress has come to power only a month ago. He ruled out reports that former Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu encouraged him to join the BJP as part of a political game plan. He said that he joined the BJP by getting attracted by the development agenda of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

He said that the BJP's aim was not to encourage defections and he doesn't know about the details of leaders who are expected to join the party from TDP. He said that the relations between the State and Centre are important to development.

Addressing a separate meeting here, he said that he suggested to former Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu not to conduct Dharma Porata Deekshalu against the Centre and BJP.

He said that he would participate in direct politics from now. He hoped that the BJP would come to power in the State also in the near future.

The BJP would conduct welfare programmes in the name of new India and Centre would give utmost priority for education and agriculture sectors in the country.

He said that he would participate in more programmes to develop the BJP in the State.
