Vijayawada: Deputy Transport Commissioner S Venkateshwara Rao has said the automobile dealers have to sell Bharat Stage VI (BS VI) vehicles from April 1 and the sale of old stage will not be allowed at any cost.

In a prèss release here on Thursday, Venkateswara Rao said according to the Union government rules, the automobile dealers have to sell or register only BS VI standard vehicles in the State. He has made it clear that only BS VI are allowed to sell.

He said if the dealers have vehicles with BS III, BS IV and V they should sell by March 15 instead of waiting for the last day March 31.

He said the government has given some relaxation of time when BS III vehicles were changed to BS IV standards but the Union government is not giving such relaxation this time.

Referring to trucks, DTC Venkateswarlu said the lorry owners have to complete the body building by March 31 and register their vehicles and made it clear that old vehicles will not be registered after March 31 at any cost.
