The Bulbul cyclone, which is centred in the southeastern Bay of Bengal, has changed its path. It is currently centred 310 km southeast of Paradip, 450 km south-west of West Bengal and 550 km south-west of Bangladesh. The storm was heading north, becoming the worst.

However, the Visakha Meteorological Center stated that it was gradually changing direction on Saturday morning and travelling north-east. Yet, the coastal area between West Bengal and Bangladesh will be crossed at midnight on Saturday. In the wake of the storm warning, a second alert has been issued to the Krishnapatnam, Nizampatnam, Machilipatnam and Visakhapatnam ports.

The tension prevailed for the last two days over the Bulbul Storm warnings. However, meteorological department officials said that Andhra Pradesh is out of danger from the Bulbul cyclone.
