Call to address cVIGIL complaints instantly

Eluru: Central poll expenditure observer Dr Manideep Batish has directed the officials to address complaints received through cVIGIL mobile app. He inspected control room set up to register complaints through the mobile app at Collectorate.

Speaking on the occasion, he called upon the people to download cVIGIL app on their mobile phones and use it to capture videos relating to violation of election code of conduct and influencing voters with money, liquor and other sops. The mobile users have to capture such videos and should send it to the concerned election officials at the same time.

Dr Batish enquired the staff about the photos and videos received from the people through this app. He also asked them about the work division and shifts at the cVIGIL control room. He directed them to be alert and respond immediately after receiving complaints. He asked the officials to create awareness among people on the extensive use of the app.

Nodal officer and district employment officer K Harishchandra Prasad briefed the election observer about the functioning of the control room. He said that as many as 15 staff have been working in three shifts. They have been registering the complaints in a register and acting accordingly, he added.
