Kurnool: Former Minister for Tourism Bhuma Akhila Priya strongly reacted to the police searching her house at Allagada on Tuesday.

The police have gone to her house to arrest her husband Bhargav Ram who is accused in a case. There is an allegation against Bhargav Ram that he beat up workers at a stone crushing unit.

When the police told her that they came to search her house, she strongly opposed it and demanded that they should produce a search warrant. She wondered how the police could search the house of a former Minister without possessing a search warrant. She told the police that her husband had already secured bail.

Strongly condemning the police action, Akhila Priya later in the evening addressed a press conference at the TDP office here.Speaking to mediapersons, Akhila Priya alleged that the police were intentionally harassing her family by filing false cases.

The former Minister who is opposing uranium mining at Pulivendula in Kadapa district, said," Cases with ill-intention are being filed after my return from Pulivendula."

She wondered how the police can dare to such her house without carrying a search warrant with them. She said she does not fear police if they foisted false cases on her family. She vowed to continue her fight against uranium mining.

Akhila Priya alleged that District SP Dr Fakkeerappa Kaginelli was intentionally targeting her. She said the SP would be held responsible if anything happened to her family members. Claiming that her husband has been granted bail, she wondered why the police were chasing him. She said she would lodge a complaint against the police with the Governor.
