Amaravati: TDP national president and former Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Sunday slammed Jagan Mohan Reddy government for 'illegally arresting' TDP MLC M Ravindranath Reddy (B Tech Ravi) in Chennai.
Naidu said that B Tech Ravi was arrested only because he exposed the government's failure to nab the accused in the murder of a Dalit woman in Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy's own Assembly constituency in Kadapa district.
In a statement here, the TDP chief said that the TDP MLC was now wrongfully arrested a month after the rape and murder of the SC woman in Pulivendula. This was yet another instance of the Chief Minister's intolerance and vindictive attitude. Instead of nabbing the culprits in the murder case, the police were making false arrests of the TDP leaders who exposed the government's failure.
Naidu said that the TDP Kadapa leaders were being harassed and persecuted just because they took out Chalo Pulivendula protests against the government over the murder issue. False cases were being filed against the TDP leaders and they were being arrested.
B Tech Ravi's arrest marked the peak level political vengeance unleashed by the YSRCP rule. The TDP chief asked why the police fail to take any action with regard to the rape and murder case. The atrocities cases were being filled against the SC, ST persons in utter violation of the laws. The Rule of Law was totally suppressed and false cases were being filed against the victims in the atrocities cases.
The TDP leaders were being punished just for the sake of going to the rescue of the poor victims. A sad situation was prevailing in AP now, Naidu said, adding the perpetrators of atrocities were holding their heads high and moving around freely without the fear of the law.
