Former chief minister Chandrababu Naidu wrote a letter to Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy urging the government to move Supreme Court over the judgment of the High Court on reservations in local body elections. He promised that TDP would support it.

Chandrababu in his letter said that the TDP is working for the welfare of the BCs who are more than 50% of the population making their presence in the political, social and economic progress. "In 1987, the Telugu Desam Government implemented 27% reservation for BCs and worked for the social justice of weaker and marginalized sections for last 33 years," Naidu asserted. He said that 34% reservation for BCs in local bodies has been in force for the past 26 years.

Babu alleged the YSRCP of deceiving people by reducing reservations to BCs despite promising in BC Declaration and demanded the government to file a Special Leave Petition in the Supreme Court against High Court judgement for the protection of 34% reservations to BCs.

"We are assuring all kinds of support from the Telugu Desam Party," Chandrababu opined.
