Chittoor: Municipal Commissioner C Obulesh said that the whereabouts of 21 suspects relating to Chennai-based Koyembedu vegetable market contacts residing in Chittoor city were identified. Home quarantine notices were served to all the 21 suspects and they would be confined to their homes for 14 days period, he added.

Speaking to The Hans India here on Monday, he said that one corona positive case has been recorded in Chittoor city related to the contacts of Koyembedu vegetable market."It is evident that several traders of Chittoor city used to get the vegetables from Koyembedu vegetable market in their vehicles. A comprehensive drive has been identified to trace the drivers, cleaners and their contacts to contain the pandemic COVID- 19,"he declared.

He made it clear that no relaxation in lockdown guidelines would be entertained in view of the prevailing alarming conditions in the city. Instructions were given to health and sanitary secretaries to conduct house hold survey to find out the health conditions of the residents in the city. All the grievances received in the Spandana programme would be solved on priority basis and notices were issued to the owners of many business establishments for violating the guidelines of lockdown period, he added. Assis tant Municipal Commissioner V Lakshmi, Health Officer Dr Vinod and Town Planning Officer Nagendra were present.
