Chittoor: TDP leader K Hemalatha exudes confidence of party winning Chittoor Mayor post

Chittoor: TDP leader and former Chittoor Mayor K Hemalatha exuded confidence that TDP will retain Mayor seat despite crooked and undemocratic means being indulged by the ruling YSRCP leaders.

During the regime of TDP, there has been tremendous development in Chittoor city where as the YSRCP government has failed even to provide drinking water, she said. Hemalatha filed nomination papers from 33 ward as TDP nominee. Her husband Praveen, the TDP leader had accompanied her during filing of nomination .

Speaking to The Hans India here on Thursday, she recalled that former Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu was instrumental for developing Chittoor city in several aspects. ``During the 9 months old YSRCP regime , no development has been witnessed in Chittoor. All the official and political programmes were confined to Tirupati only.

Most of the developmental schemes of TDP regime have been stalled due to apathy by YSRCP government," she alleged.

Meanwhile on Thursday, 315 nominations were filed in the district from Chittoor (118), Tirupati ( 92), Puttur ( 19), Nagari ( 22), Punganur( 21), Palamaner (23) and Madanapalli ( 20).
