City woman shines in beauty contest

Vijayawada: Bhavana from Vijayawada created a record by securing 3rd place at Misses India Telangana contest on Thursday. The 27-year-old Bhavana was the first woman from Vijayawada to achieve the feat. She proved that the women of Vijayawada are second to none by performing in Beauty, Self-confidence, Intelligence and Ramp walk and won the contest.

As many as 111 competitors participated in the contest and Bhavana clinched 3rd place. The multitalented Bhavana was a Kuchupudi dancer and has a doctorate in Kuchupudi and had won 22 state and national awards. She also played a role in the famous movie Bahubali and worked in electronic media for about 10 years.
