Superintendent of Police (SP) Dr Fakkeerappa Kaginelli called upon the police personnel to observe Police Martyrs week from October 15.

Kurnool: Superintendent of Police (SP) Dr Fakkeerappa Kaginelli called upon the police personnel to observe Police Martyrs week from October 15. Dr Fakkeerappa said to The Hans India that 10 Central Reserved Police Force (CRPF) personnel had laid their lives for the country on 21st October 1959 while discharging responsibilities in Ladak Aksai Chin on China border when the soldiers of China infiltrating into Indian border had fired at Bharat Jawans.

Remembering the sacrifices of brave soldiers, we observe October 21 as Martyrs' day, said Fakkeerappa. The SP instructed the police personnel to organise programme to mark the Martyr's week at their respective police stations in the district. He has also ordered the officials to strive for the well-being of family members of deceased police personnel.
