Coronavirus cases spike to 796 in Andhra Pradesh, total @ 12,285

Andhra Pradesh: Coronavirus positive cases rise to 12,285 in Andhra Pradesh on Saturday with the fresh 796 cases that include 740 local cases, 51 migrants and five foreigners. The state has conducted 24,458 tests in the last 24 hours.

In the last 24 hours, the state reported 11 deaths that include four people from Kurnool, four from Krishna, one each from East Godavari, West Godavari and Vizianagaram taking the total fatalities in the state to 157 and the recovery count touched to 5,289 with 263 patients getting discharged from the hospitals in the last 24 hours. Currently, there are 6,648 active cases in Andhra Pradesh.

Anantapur district recorded 161 cases in the last 24 hours followed by East Godavari with 109 cases, 84 in Chittoor, 71 in Guntur, 69 in Kurnool, 53 in Krishna, 50 in Kadapa, 44 in West Godavari, 34 in Vishakapatnam, 26 in Prakasam, 24 in Nellore, 15 in Vizianagaram. However, Kurnool is leading with 1,684 total coronavirus cases followed by Anantapur with 1,320 cases and Krishna with 1,252 cases.

So far, the Andhra Pradesh government have tested 8,16,082 samples.
