Coronavirus in Andhra Pradesh: After a slight slowdown in the number of cases for the last couple of days, the COVID-19 positive cases has jumped up by 52 new cases in the last twenty-four hours on Monday out of the 9713 tests conducted taking the tally to 2282.

Coronavirus in Andhra Pradesh: After a slight slowdown in the number of cases for the last couple of days, the COVID-19 positive cases has jumped up by 52 new cases in the last twenty-four hours on Monday out of the 9713 tests conducted taking the tally to 2282. The death toll due to the pandemic remains at 50 while the as any as 94 members have recovered and discharged on Sunday taking its total to 1527. The number of active cases stands 705 to date.

Going by the district-wise cases Chittoor and Kurnool record the highest number of cases with 15 each where most of them are linked to Koyambedu market returnees. And the remaining cases reported at various districts. As the problems and cases related to migrants mounting, the state has decided to evacuate them on special busses for free of cost.

Meanwhile, as the centre has decided to extend the lockdown till May 31, the state government headed by chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy also contemplating to follow the centre's guidelines as far as lockdown is concerned. However, it remains to be seen what kind of exemptions the government would enforce in the state.
