Coronavirus update: 551 new cases reported in Andhra Pradesh, tally moves to 8,72,839

Coronavirus cases in Andhra Pradesh have dropped to a record low on Tuesday along with coronavirus deaths. However, the number of discharges decreased slightly. In a bulletin released by the state medical and health department on Tuesday, coronavirus tests were performed on 43,006 people in the past 24 hours and 551 people tested positive, which brings the number of corona infections in the state to 8,72,839.

Coronavirus deaths also fell sharply with four people died after being infected with the coronavirus on Tuesday with one each in Guntur, Krishna, Nellore and West Godavari respectively. The death toll from the coronavirus epidemic has risen to 7,042 across the state. On Monday, 744 people fully recovered from covid with which 8,60,368 people in the state have fully recovered and been discharged from the coronavirus hospitals,

Meanwhile, the number of active cases has dropped to 5,429. The government has tested 1,05,09,805 samples so far across the state including 56,187 on Tuesday, the bulletin said.
