Tally reaches 525 having 181 active cases and six deaths

Tirupati: The spread of Covid-19 has been going unabated in Chittoor district with the regular reporting of a sizeable number of cases.

During the last two days 35 cases were added to the tally taking it to 525 by Tuesday evening. With 19 discharges on Tuesday the total number of cured persons has gone up to 338 while six deaths are recorded so far. This leaves number of active cases at 181.

Among the new cases reported on Tuesday, one police constable who worked in red zone areas, one forest department employee, one RMP doctor, one staff nurse at Ruia Hospital were among others.

A five-year boy was tested positive on his return from Hyderabad at Tirupati Railway station. With this his parents also have undergone Covid tests.

Among others, many patients having positive are returnees from other areas like Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad and Chennai including one foreign returnee.
