Darshan-linked donation facility SRIVANI goes online
In an effort to boost donations for construction of temples, TTD launched the on-line application of Sri Venkateswara Alayala Nirmana Trust (SRIVANI) on November 4.
Tirupati: In an effort to boost donations for construction of temples, TTD launched the on-line application of Sri Venkateswara Alayala Nirmana Trust (SRIVANI) on November 4. Seven pilgrims have booked on the first day of launch of the online fecility, according to TTD additional executive officer A V Dharma Reddy.
Speaking to media persons at Tirumala on Tuesday, the additional EO said so far 1,109 donors had contributed for the SRIVANI Trust and the total amount accumulated in the trust was Rs 1.10 crore since October 21, the day on which the facility of VIP break darshan was introduced to the donors of the trust till November 4 in off-line.
He said TTD had launched the online app on November 4 and also released the daily quota VIP-break darshan tickets against SRIVANI donation and seven donors have availed the online facility on day one towards the trust which he said would soon pick up.
The additional EO said there was a need to give wide publicity for the online app for the benefit of those desire to have special privilege VIP break darshan facility. "We have released the quota of darshan tickets under SRIVANI Trust till December 31.
Every day the quota will be 500 except on Fridays which is restricted to 200 only in on-line. The devotees can directly book online and come for darshan on their date of choice which was booked already," he explained.
In other words, the donors of SRIVANI trust get preference on par with protocol VIPs for darshan on all days including Friday, Saturday and Sunday during which beak drashan tickets issued against recommendation letters of prominent persons are not allowed by TTD in order to cope with the week-end rush. Apparently, this was to boost up donation to SRIVANI Trust.
He said that donation would be utilised for construction of Sri Venkateswara Swamy temples in the colonies of SCs, STs vulnerable to conversion and also in remote area to reach out the people living in interior places.
The additional EO also said accommodation was also linked to the online quota and rooms in Vakulamata Rest House will be allotted to those avail online the darshan-linked SRIVANI Trust donation. Those who contribute Rs 10,000 get one VIP-break drashn for which Rs 500 has to be paid in addition to the donation.
